NM Residential is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low-voltage systems across our properties. This part-time role is ideal for a technician experienced with Control4, access control systems (2N & Linear), and IC Realtime camera systems. The schedule is flexible based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Control4 home automation systems, including controllers, touch panels, audio/video distribution, and network integration.
- Install and service access control systems, specifically 2N and Linear, including door stations, keypads, card readers, and related hardware.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot IC Realtime camera systems, including cameras, NVRs, and remote access setup.
- Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, coax, control wiring).
- Diagnose signal, power, and connectivity issues across all systems.
- Provide on-site maintenance support and perform system updates as needed.
- Document work performed, materials used, and system configurations.
- Ensure installations follow safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Collaborate with managers, onsite teams, and vendors to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications Required:
- Proven experience with Control4 systems, including installation and basic programming.
- Hands-on experience with 2N and Linear access control systems.
- Strong working knowledge of IC Realtime camera systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency with low-voltage wiring tools, testers, and general hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred:
- Control4 certifications (not required but beneficial).
- Experience working in residential or commercial property environments.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, port forwarding, routers/switches).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required.
