The Leasing Consultant is responsible for apartment rentals, move-ins, and lease renewals while achieving maximum occupancy. This position operates within and contributes to an environment that complies with Fair Housing laws and Equal Employment Opportunity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Market vacant units and renew occupied units
- Conduct market surveys to analyze competitors
- Track telephone and office traffic
- Conduct property tours demonstrating the property’s amenities
- Follow up with potential and renewing residents until leases are closed
- Conduct credit checks and income verifications while maintaining confidentiality
- Draft leases for new and renewing residents
- Inspect vacant units and report repair items
- Prepare welcome packages and schedule move-ins/move-outs
- Provide exceptional customer service and promote resident retention
- Process maintenance/work orders and maintain control in emergencies
- Manage resident package check-ins
- Perform general administrative duties (filing, phones, mail, rent collection, etc.)
- Attend staff meetings and complete internal training
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of apartment leasing experience
Skills and Abilities
- Administrative: Phones, filing, correspondence, data entry
- Analytical: Lease review, invoice discrepancies, problem solving
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication
- Computer: Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, MRI
- Coordinating: Scheduling and prioritizing tasks
- Creative: Marketing and leasing presentations
- Mathematical: Lease calculations, prorations, special rates
- Other: Confidentiality, customer service, initiative, teamwork, time management

Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Saturdays, 10:00 AM–5:00 PM
